Veterans day 2006 I was invited by the US Marine Corps to be a part of the ceremony at the Oklahoma state capital. They honored my fathers service to his country by allowing me to read soldiers names that were killed during war. Although I do not agree with war I did this because my father was proud to serve his country and I am proud of him. After I was finished reading I went to the memorial wall and shot this in protest of war.

Shot at Oklahoma City Gay Pride 2005
I was set up to shoot down at the parade ending point at the strip. Before the parade began there a group of religous activist that decided to stand right in the middle of the street and preach hell fire and brimstone. There were hundred of gays and lesbian surrounding them trying to get them to shut up and leave. The next thing I knew there was a roaring sound like nothing I have ever heard. Several Dykes on Bikes came roaring up and backed their bikes up and began to rack off their pipes drowning out the sermon. One of the preachers got arrested for belting a young man. After it was all over I saw this couple standing there The Outlaws! Just for loving each other.

This old girl was shot on my way to Abilene Texas to go to a rock hound convention.
She was sitting at a old abandoned gas station in one of those tiny towns along the way.
I stopped and got out of my car to checked her out.
Of course I had to to spend an hour sitting in the grass looking at her.
I dont know if anyone will understand this but the interior smell made me think of riding to church  on Sundays with grand parents.

I drove past this old barn hundreds of times when I lived in the rural town of Jones Ok.
Every time I drove past it I was amazed it was still standing.
We would have a bad thunderstorm and I would have to get in my car and go see if it had fallen.
The day before I shot this we had winds of 38 miles per hour.
Once again I drove out the next day to check on it.
As I sat in the grass looking at it I started to think of how this old barn was like me.
Defiant, stubborn, determined and not too good looking but strong and proud.

This was shot on one of my many trips to the Paseo.
I loved the window with the works of art beyond.

MyGallery/FarewellMardigras.jpg

This was shot right after hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans.
I remember sitting in front of the televison in shock.
I watch for days as this country fail to take care of its own.
I couldnt stand watching anymore so I went down to the Paseo to try
and find some beauty somewhere.
I saw this in the window of a dance studio.
It made me think of Mardi Gras and New Orleans.
I thought they would never have another Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans.

I shot this out in a little town out past union city.
I went and sat on the bench out in front and thought of how
it would have been a really hopping place way back when you could still get an
attendant to fill her up and check the oil!
